Emergency Wooden Structures
Nell'ambito delle attività didattiche e di ricerca relative all'accordo culturale con l'Università Shibaura Institute of Technology di Tokyo, dal 5 al 15 settembre 2019 saranno presenti presso la facoltà di Architettura di Roma 15 studenti di questa università, accompagnati dal prof. Satoru Yamashiro, per un'esperienza progettuale che istruirà il tema del seminario di laurea per gli studenti di Roma che parteciperanno a questo progetto, il primo della serie "aToRo" seminars.
The first edition of seminar is about the emergency wooden structures. The theme is inspired by the book “Wooden Temporary Housing Group” published in 2011 after the Great East Japan Earthquake. An Italian versionis to be published in the current year. The seminar will also make use of the monographic issue "Terremoti/Earthquakes" of the scientific architecture journal Abitare la Terra. The project aims to give suggestions to the refugees’ needs, within an intervention of architectural and landscape value, consisting in a distinctive and identifying element in the context area. The seminar will propose strategies and solutions for the prompt aid after natural disasters and technological catastrophes.
