Energy revolutions: the city in the 21st century
Le città sono fondamentalmente il prodotto della tecnologia delle fonti energetiche fossili. Potrebbero sopravvivere e svilupparsi senza il costante utilizzo di petrolio, gas, carbone o energia nucleare? Cosa si può fare per minimizzare, o addirittura invertire il loro impatto sul clima, facendo uso dell’energia rinnovabile? Per dare una risposta a tali interrogativi, Peter Droege valuterà le diverse opzioni e indagherà i risultati per una trasformazione delle comunità e delle città orientata verso l’annullamento delle fonti energetiche non rinnovabili.

Peter Droege è Sustainability Innovation Advisor dell’Urban Design Department della City of Zurich's, Presidente di Eurosolar, General Chairman del World Council for Renewable Energy e Selection Committee member of Masdar's Zayed Future Energy Prize. È, inoltre, Direttore del PhD Program in Architecture and Planning and Chair for Sustainable Spatial Development presso l’Università del Liechtenstein.

Energy revolutions: the city in the 21st century
Modern cities are, above all else, the product of fossil fuel technology. Could they exist and thrive, without the routine use of oil, gas, coal or nuclear power? What can be done to minimize, even reverse their climate impacts, basing them on renewable energy? To find answers to these questions Peter Droege in his lecture assesses the options and surveys the evidence for a transformation of communities and cities towards carbon neutrality and beyond.

Peter Droege serves as sustainability innovation advisor to the City of Zurich's Urban Design Department, President of Eurosolar, General Chairman of the World Council for Renewable Energy, and as Selection Committee member of Masdar's Zayed Future Energy Prize. He is also Director, PhD Program in Architecture and Planning and Chair for Sustainable Spatial Development at the University of Liechtenstein.
